What it can and can't do

Written so you can decide before you pay, not discover afterwards. If something here is wrong or out of date, email us and we will fix it.

What it records

• Anything that happens in a Chrome tab on a computer. That covers ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, JobNimbus, AccuLynx, QuickBooks Online, Gmail, your supplier portals and almost every other office tool in this trade.
• Clicks, typed entries, the pages you moved through, and a screenshot of each step, cropped to the part that matters.
• How long the whole task took you, and how many clicks it needed.

What it cannot record

• Phone and tablet apps. CompanyCam, the mobile versions of your field software, anything your techs do on a phone. A Chrome extension cannot see them. If your goal is documenting field work, Crewmanual is the wrong tool and we would rather tell you now.
• Desktop programs installed on the computer. QuickBooks Desktop, Excel, anything that is not a website.
• Other browsers. Chrome and Chrome-based browsers such as Edge. Not Safari or Firefox.
• Anything that happens off the screen. A phone call, a conversation, a decision someone made in their head. It records what was done, not why.

What it will not do on purpose

• It never clicks anything in your software for you. No automation, no bots, no logging in on your behalf. It writes the manual; your people still do the work. We will not put ourselves in a position to break your data or your vendor’s terms.
• It does not upload your screenshots. They stay on the computer that recorded them. See the privacy page for exactly what does and does not leave.

Where the answer box has limits

• It answers from the guides you recorded. If nobody recorded how to do something, it will say so rather than invent an answer.
• It is a computer reading your own manual back to you. Check anything that touches money, contracts or code compliance against a human who knows.
• There is a monthly cap on questions, generous enough that a normal shop will not reach it. If you do reach it, we will tell you the number rather than quietly cut you off.

Where you still need a person

A manual tells someone which buttons to press. It does not teach judgement, it does not replace a licence, and it will not tell a new hire when something looks wrong. Use it to stop answering the same eleven questions, not to skip training someone.
